Ed, Enjoyed viewing the web site of the Keasbey Eagles and remember Butch Toth very well. He always had a big smile and enjoyed taking his time to talk to you about weightlifting or anything. What a great person he was and I know he is missed by everyone. Keep up the memories Eb so everyone can enjoy this site as I did. Joe

Thanks for the memories as I was there in the rebuilt building with the last crew. Butch was always willing to help anyone and I hope people send you more photos. Let's compete against the Surfbreakers again.

Ed, thanks for providing this site and all the wonderful photos. you know I love this stuff, I know of the Keasbury Eagles only thru the magazines of the day. But remember many of you guys and the ''reverence'' that Butch Toth was given back in the early 70s from everyone. Bob Hoffman sang the praises of your club and Butch in covering the 73 Nats when Ciro D. was lifting in the 148s. And of couse Phil Grippaldi and always seeing Butch around in the background of many photos. Please, keep up the good work.

You had to be there. It was awesome. Had there been a NCAA back then Phil and I would have been champs. Memories are forever and no one can replace them. It is fun to take a walk back in time.

Butch was just a great guy. He did so much for the sport of weightlifting, and would help anyone who had an interest, regardless of ability. As Butch once said to me, '' Once a Keasbey Eagle, always a Keasbey Eagle.''

First thanks to Ed O'Brien for starting this site. Butch was a great influence always willing to help and always willing to give. He was indeed a great man. His passion for weightlifting wasn't just for himself but also for helping others succeed.

I remember one Saturday afternoon, 1963 or so. While I was training in The Club Butch an some guy were talking. I thought I recognized him, but wasn't sure. They finished there conversation, the stranger departed. I asked Butch ''who was he''? Butch replied ''My friend Steve Stanko''. I was 16. My awe for that moment is still felt.
