I was one of the bodybuilders that used to workout there. I knew Ed Obrien and met his brother Francis through Ed and became lifetime friends with Francis as a result. This brings backsome memories

It was a time: When I stood stage left and Phil Grippaldi Pressed his first teenage WR, there was magic. Senior Nationals '65 or so. Thanks to Butch Toth. Butch saw the potential. Those who lucked out, were privileged the experience.

Butch Toth was a great man who knew how to encourage young lifters. I remember Phil Grippaldi as an absolute weightlifting colossus.

Just the other day I realized that Yes I saw Phil's 1st. teenage W/R press of 336, I was also present, keeping score, when at the North American Championships that year I witnessed Phil's last teenage W/R Press of 355! Which he will own forever. The atmosphere was ELECTRIC!! Thank You for the memories Mr. Phil Grippaldi; And, God's Blessings to you...

I graduated H.S. 1967..Drafted for Vet Nam soon after. During one of my leaves one evening I went to ''The Club''. An there is Phil & Butch Toth. Phil is Clean & Jerking..The year 1968. The bar was loaded to 435. (Regerts W/R record 433). I was privileged to see Phil Grippaldi in the Keasbey Eagles Club make that lift. We weighed the plates & bar.Result: 438! What can I say. The more I think about the Keasbey Eagles an the Fantastic moments of seeing World Level performances..can I not be blessed!...An Eagle Forever...M. Lukasiuk...Bless you all..
